Shani Franklin Reid is an accomplished attorney with a career rooted in academic excellence and dedicated advocacy. She attended Avondale High School, graduating as valedictorian of her class. In 2004, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Agnes Scott College, graduating magna cum laude, and went on to follow her father’s footsteps to the University of Georgia School of Law.
Shani began her legal career at a small firm, where she practiced bankruptcy, real estate, and criminal defense. In 2012, she shifted her focus to advocacy, joining the largest Social Security Disability filing organization in the United States. Since 2019, her practice has centered on family and juvenile law, while she continues to volunteer as an advocate for special education students through Georgia Legal Services.
Outside of the courtroom, Shani is a highly involved dance mom to her tween daughter and an enthusiastic supporter of the “world’s best soccer player”—her 17-year-old bonus son.
